Boeing 787 Dreamliners contain a potentially catastrophic software bug


 "This condition is caused by a software counter internal to the GCUs that will overflow after 248 days of continuous power. We are issuing this AD to prevent loss of all AC electrical power, which could result in loss of control of the airplane."

AIRBUS HAS acknowledged that the reason its A400M military plane went down in Spain on 19 May was down to incorrectly configured software rather than a hardware failure.Software glitches had already cost the project three years and put it seriously over budget, but it was assumed that the problems had been resolved.
